Merle Jagger
The legend of MERLE JAGGER: There's a modern day wild bunch shooting it out in the greater Los Angeles area, playing blistering riffs that were inspired by the guitar slinging ghosts that pioneered the twang of electric guitar and progressive rhythms. Boiling out of the stills of LA's underground is Merle Jagger, an instrumental trio ready to blaze a new trail of amped up Country Rock with a mix of Bluegrass and Jazz for the new Western millennium. Searching for the truth and not just the cake, long time sessioneer guitarist Mark Christian, a native of the Southern California orange tree ranches, teamed up with barnyard pals bassist Patrick Flores and drummer Brandon Goldstein for the ultimate progressive Hillbilly experiment. Mr. Christian's eclectic electric guitar style is fueled by a kaleidoscope of banjo and flat picking treasures that emulate a round-up of influences including Jimmy Bryant, Roy Clark, Jimi Hendrix, and Joe Maphis. Bass slinger Patrick Flores, (Southern California) thumps out a wagon yard of melodic western soundscapes while Brandon Goldstein, (born in California as well, but raised in the great state of Virginia) explodes with progressive expressionism reminiscent of Keith Moon and Mitch Mitchell. The name Merle Jagger is a derivation of the band's crossover sound of classic country to classic rock creating a cascade of notes that would make Johnny Cash walk the line. However, this is no ordinary country music or classic rock--and it's not for the faint of heart. Be on the lookout for Merle Jagger riding through sound systems of the West, robbing virgin ears of the sonic innocence that once belonged only to tradition.

THE LOVEMAKERS
Oakland’s electro rock-pop sensations The Lovemakers were just named “Best Pop Band of 2008.” by The East Bay Express. Their seductive sound is often said to be comparable to Led Zepplin covering Prince. The band was signed by Interscope and have toured the world on the strength of their incredibly infectious live shows, and have since been raved about in Rolling Stone and SPIN Magazine. Core members Lisa Light (bass, vocals) and Scott Blonde (guitar, vocals) have taken their band from playing underground Oakland warehouse parties to performing to a festival crowd of 10,000, and toured the outback of Australia. Lisa, a Stanford graduate, former marine biologist, and retired circus musician believes that their continuing success is the result of a reputation and fan base built on catchy-yet-offbeat songs and legendary raw-yet-theatrical live performance.

Run 4 Cover
Visalia mega-band Run 4 Cover is an 11-member dance band that plays a little something for everyone. For the last 16 years the band’s goal has been to get the dance party started and to keep ‘em shakin’ all night long. The band plays over 270 American pop music dance favorites, covering funk, R&B, soul, classic rock, country, and even standards by Frank Sinatra. Run 4 Cover has shared the stage with Chicago, Huey Lewis and the News, The Temptations, and James Brown.

So Many Dynamos
The So Many Dynamos sound bridges the gap between catchy modern pop music (think Weezer) and complex song structures (think Battles), maintaining singable and danceable material, while bringing so much more intelligent interplay to the table. The band’s radio-friendly rhythms change in a moment and widen the songs into multiple layers of dense sound, while the vocals dance around, crisp and meaningful. The band’s forthcoming album was recorded by Death Cab for Cutie guitarist/producer Chris Walla.
